Join us at Read Street Community Space to remember our disappeared peoples together over a fire, feed and yarns.
As National Week of Missing Peoples comes to close, we’re bringing together families and community to connect and unwind. We’ll gather around the fire for a BBQ feed and yarn, to share stories and remember our loved ones together.
Georgia Corowa will join us to start the night with live music and song.
About 'The Disappeared Project': Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people disappear at three times the rate of non-Indigenous Australians. When this happens, families face a system that fails them—police dismiss concerns, media ignores cases, and families are left to navigate hostile institutions alone during the most traumatic moments of their lives.
The Disappeared Project is creating the comprehensive, First Nations-led crisis response that should have existed decades ago.
